Dos Guitarras Flamencas en America Latina

1967

Even as far back as the XVI century, the identification of Spanish musicians with the musical traditions of Latin America is fundamental for understanding the processes that have given shape to the music of Spanish culture. This is even more notable for artists from Cádiz, that privileged region of old Europe for business with the Americas. The journey taken by young guitarists through folklore and popular Latin-American music is shown in arrangements of highly representative pieces from countries such as Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, Peru and Argentina. Taking the best possible of the expressive resources of this music so close despite its distance geographically, the brothers from Algeciras take the music as close as possible to the ground of Flamenco. Three pieces belong to the popular canon (1,4 and 10), the rest are by the artists themselves.
